Adrian Gonzalez claimed off waivers by the Dodgers. Doubt he gets dealt but the next 72 hours should be interesting.

Seems like the Dodgers are turning into the Western Yankees with all the money they're throwing around.

EDIT: Dodgers claim Beckett too. Not sure why anyone would want him. But, PLEASE GET HIM OUT OF BOSTON! Lackey too!

EDIT 2: Justin Upton also claimed off Waivers. No confirmed team as of now though.

Lots of big names being claimed today.

This one deserves its own post:

According to Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston, the Red Sox and Dodgers are working on a HUGE deal.

Gordon Edes ‏@GordonEdes

Blockbuster: red Sox, Dodgers working on deal that would send AGon, Crawford, Beckett and Punto to LA. Hurdles remain, but closing in

Felix does what Felix does and throws his FIFTH CG Shutout of the season, putting him on top of the ERA Leaders in the bigs. #FelixforCyYoung

I would love it so much if the Yankees missed the playoffs.

Don't worry, if the Rays can win the next two against the Orioles and the BoSox can (somehow) beat the Yankees, your wish may just come true.

Hopefully.

Sucks that the Sox keep losing, but would love to see them get a good draft pick. Would be nice to pick up Appel. Could have a great rotation in a few years if we could land him.

Buchholz
Lester
Barnes
Webster
Appel

Obviously that's at least 5-7 years down the road. Plus, that's not counting trades or other moves, but if they can all live up to their potential and stay in the organization, that could be a sick rotation.

tough to argue, they have the starting pitching to certainly take them all the way. if they can win with their top two starters without using their bullpens much, they certainly have as good a shot as anyone else.
