Favorite System and Games

Post by hubbs » Sat Mar 30, 2013 8:41 pm

Hey guys, me and my brother were reminiscing this evening about our child hood and favorite systems and games, and yes, the play station 1 won my vote.

Im curious as to what your guys favorite systems and games were, whether recent or retro, console or hand-held.

My favorite games for the PS1 were Rayman and Crash Bandicoot warped. Yes... I bought a PS1 and both of those games tonight, there is a site called lukiegames.com if you want to check it out its like the Dave and Adams of video games.

Anyway, comment what you guys liked, and even what you didnt like (play station 2 for me is the worst system ever).

Thanks!

I'll kick this off with a twist. My favourite games off of systems I've owned and then my personal favourite.

PS1: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (I'm actually trying to get a world record on this)
GameCube: F-Zero GX
Game Boy Advance: Golden Sun
DS: The World Ends With You
Wii: Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
3DS: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy

As you can see, I'm a bit of a Nintendork. Personal favourite system is the DS, although the 3DS is definitely making a case for top spot.

There is no such thing as growing out of Pokémon. You'll be back soon. (I say this as a 21 year old with a perfect 649/649 Pokédex)

agreed, 19 year old with pokemon pearl and white 2 on the go, can't say im perfect, but my special attack would wreck anyone, atleast it has so far, the elite four in white 2 was the easiest i have had to face in any pokemon game. the hardest i'd say was pokemon crystal for the game boy color, hated it -_-

Im 35 with a son who loved pokemon (he turned 12 so now he says hes too old for pokemons..sold his entire collection of cards as well) and im the one playing the games on his DS. I bought Black and White just to try and get a full pokedex (Damn Victini cant find him!!!!!)

Some games are fun even if they are meant for a younger audience.

I'm sorry, but I'm a Pokemon purist/elitist.

I refuse to play anything after Gold/Silver. Blue/Red will always be unbeatable as the best.

For me these are my top favorite games ever in no particular order:

PC: Age of Empires III
PC: Might and Magic 7/8
Gameboy: Pokemon Red/Blue
SNES: Mortal Kombat 2
N64: James Bond Goldeneye
N64: Zelda: Ocarina of Time
PS1: Crash Bandicoot
PS2: Resident Evil 4
PS3: Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
PS3: Call of Duty Modern Warfare (any of them)

There are a ton more I could name but these would be the ones I could play for the rest of my life

Gen-wunner alert! =P
If you ignore the fact they're oversaturating the amount of Pokémon, the new games are pretty sick in terms of mechanics and overall look.
Personally, I can't wait for Gen 6 in to hit in October.

Old bugger here ;) My youth was the beginning of it all, first Pong and then I saved up for an Atari when I was 14 (it had been out like a year at that point and was still over $200 (a lot of money back in the late 70s)). So I'm basically a PC gamer when I do play anymore, other than if at my Sisters house as my Nephew has all of the systems (my Son has a N64 and a Wii but they in his room), but can't get the wife in her house for quite some time now so the past also (she in wheelchair all the time now).

So my favorites from the past:

Atari:
Pitfall
Asteroids and any of the arcade games I used to spend lots of quarters on.

Commodore 64:
Bards Tale
Wasteland

PC:
Heroes of Might and Magic (1-4 as didn't care for H5, but actually H3 what I played and play the most still at times)
Roller Coaster Tycoon
Civilization (the first one, and I lost interest after awhile).

My son recently got me started on Fallout 1 and now Fallout 2, as same premise and from same folks that did Wasteland (he says it was based on that). Hence my recent decline of activity (still here multiple times a day, just not all day ;) )
