McDavid Young Guns Hunting...Hobby or Retail??

Post by jd66 » Wed Sep 06, 2017 4:19 pm

Okay so my goal is to pull my own McDavid Young Guns rather than just buy one(for now). What I want to know is what are my best option/odds. So far have bought a hobby box, a few blasters and a couple of those Canadian exclusive Blasters. No luck yet. What are people's thoughts? I'm thinking retail box (24 pack) is the best value. Not sure how the odds or sequencing works...Has anybody pulled one from a random pack, blaster or tin? any thoughts appreciated.

It really depends on whether you want the ability to be able to pull better cards. Hobby gives you exclusives/HGs, retail does not. If you're just trying to pull the base version, maybe just stick to the 24pk retail boxes.

ya just looking for the McDavid. Basically looking for the best young gun potential per dollar.

Definitely going retail. Depending on the price of blasters, that may be your better route, but I'd recommend the 24 pack boxes. I bought 12 of them at release, and you get good value in them...and still get the 6 YGs per box you'd get in hobby. And you'll get a jersey and other inserts that you wouldn't get in blasters.

That's what I was thinking too. I don't see how a hobby box can be almost $100 more than a retail box for the "chance" to get certain cards.

After all that I ended up trading a box of commons and a few numbered platinum cards and cash for a BGS 9.5 McDavid young gun.

yep. makes total sense if you're just young guns hunting. Can get 12 young guns in retail for the price of 6 in a hobby.

As others have stated, I would go for retail!

Good luck !
